The Apostle Paul used the analogy of a race several times in his letters. He encouraged his readers to train for the race, stay in the race, and finish the race. At times our lives feel very much like a race. We are running and running. The question is where are we going? I confess that at times I feel like runner who is at the end of the race and reaching exhaustion. When I begin to feel drained and spent I have to take the time to get away alone with God and refuel my spirit. Over the last few weeks I have heard many people saying that they feel tired. It has been a busy season with many activities in our church and in our community. I urge all of you who feel weary and drained to go the the source of our strength, our Lord. He said himself, "Come to me all you who are weary and heavy laden and I will give you rest." That means that we must turn off the noise, go someplace peaceful and let the Living Water refresh us.
